The Phoenix International Raceway (Seating Chart) is also known to locals as the PIR. Today, Phoenix International Raceway has a world reputation for racing. The Checker Auto Parts 500 NASCAR Winston Cup Series race is probably the biggest one day sporting event in Arizona. The Indycars have made 58 visits to PIR, and the annual Fall NASCAR weekend with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup, Busch, Craftsman Trucks and Featherlite Southwest Series races has pleased the fans each year.

• We were there in 2004 for the fall Busch & Nascar races - a very nice facility - had a wonderful time, in spite of the intermittant rain! (Besides, my very favorite driver won!!)
