Mystery Castle at South MountainMystery Castle at South Mountain Average User Rating: ![]() ©2005 The Phoenix Guide The Mystery Castle, located in the foothills of South Mountain Park, was constructed in the 1930s. It is noted for its unique "curious" architecture and appeal to lovers of folk-art. It has 18 rooms with 13 fireplaces and is full of facinating oddities: a roll-away bed with a mining rail-car for a frame, is one of many. Completed in 1945 the Mystery Castle was once a private residence. It is an odd, three story structure made of stone, adobe, automobile parts and petroglyphs. User Reviews: (add a review)
